The 28th annual Nathaniel Coleman and Hattie Jane (Lynch) Moss Reunion, held on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Cedar Creek State Park, welcomed 160 family members including new babies and new attendees to celebrate their heritage.
Wilbert Reed led the family in prayer to note losses and thanksgiving for the past year, and to seek blessings for fellowship and food. Following the meal, Dawn and Matthew Kropp led the children’s games including a piñata, and reunion president Daniel

Moss called the business meeting to order. Following a treasurer’s report and general announcements, those in attendance received family updates from representatives of each of Nathaniel and Hattie’s children. The family also awarded its annual Moss Family Scholarship to Kari Radcliffe, a 2009 graduate of Gilmer County High School currently pursuing general studies at Glenville State College.
Many door prizes were awarded to those in attendance. Dan Perin won the 50/50 drawing, and Farron Moss won the family door prize that was provided by descendants of Ruth (Moss) Reed.

Daniel and Kelli Moss were re-elected as president and secretary/treasurer, respectively, and Shelly Rose was elected to organize and lead the children’s games for 2010.
The adult games were highlighted by two events introduced last year: a hammer throw for the men, and a skillet throw for the ladies. Returning champion Sarah Moss once again led the ladies’ field with an exceptional skillet toss to retain the title, while husband Jonathan pulled off a last minute upset to seize the men’s hammer throw title from his brother, 2008 winner Terry Moss.
Signed in as in attendance were: Mike Begin and Shanette Begin Natal; Amy, Danny and Caden Boone; Kenny Bosley; Roger, Valeria, Jedidiah, Emily and Benjamin Brannon; Kelly Brown; David Cooper; Ben and Bernice Dobbins; Gary and Evelyn Drake; Eddie and Donna Engle
