The 27th Annual Nathaniel Moss Reunion
The 27th annual Nathaniel Coleman and Hattie Jane (Lynch) Moss Reunion, held on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Cedar Creek State Park, brought 134 family members together again to celebrate their heritage.
Wilbert Reed led the family in prayer seeking blessings for fellowship and food. Following the meal, Carol Jarvis began the children’s games, and reunion president Daniel Moss called the business meeting to order. The family acknowledged and mourned the passing only days earlier of Rodney Moss, and many attended the visitation for Rodney immediately after the reunion. The family also acknowledged the passing of other relatives during the past year, and received family updates from representatives of each of Nathaniel and Hattie’s children.
Many door prizes were awarded to those in attendance. Cindy Wasil won the 50/50 drawing, and Diana Kazmierczak won the family door prize that was donated by descendants of Lee Moss. Daniel and Kelli Moss were re-elected as president and secretary/treasurer, respectively, and Matt and Dawn Kropp were newly elected to organize and lead the children’s games for 2009.
The adult games were highlighted by two new events in conjunction with this summer’s Olympic Games: a hammer throw for the men, and a skillet throw for the ladies. At left, Kenny Landis displays his impressive throwing style. However, Terry Moss won the men’s competition with an incredibly long throw, while Sarah Moss dominated the ladies’ competition with a record-“breaking” throw that sent skillet shards all over the field.
Those signed in as in attendance were: Bobby Beall; James Brannon; Colton Brannon; Roger, Valeria, Emily and Jedidiah Brannon; Kelly Brown; April Butler; Ashley Butler; Ben and Bernice Dobbins; Eddie and Donna Engler; Janet Followay; Haley Gansel; Linda Goodrich; Cathy Gover; Kirby Graves; Morgan Graves; Carol and Madison Jarvis; Mary Jane Jenkins; Roger Jenkins; Bill and Barbara Jones; Kim and Diana Kazmierczak; Matthew and Dawn Kropp; Kenny, Lisa and Jesse Landis; Ed and Arlou Minney; Edward Minney; Itella Moore; Randy, Renee and Riley Moore; Ross Moore; Armold and Mary Moss; Bud Moss; Daniel, Kelli, Nathan and James Moss; David Moss; Donnie and Emalene Moss; Doug, Cindy, Kyle and Miah Moss; Farron, Ella, Ana, Issa, Seth and Wyatt Moss; Jonathan, Sarah, Alexa, Kalee and Sierra Moss; Kaden Moss; Loretta, Asia, Brandi and Dakota Moss; Malora Moss; Robin and Debi Moss; Roy Moss; Ruth Moss; Ryan Moss; Terry, Debbie, Chase Lee, and Cole Moss; Tiffany Moss; Travis Moss; Wayne and Claire Moss; Duretha Mowery; Dan Perin; Don and Collene Powers; Kari Radcliffe; Adam Ratliff; Wilbert and Arlene Reed; Dan and Debbie Rogers; Emily Rogers; Randy and Hilda Rogers; Shelly, Colton, Dalton and Garrett Rose; Steve, Jeannie and Jerad Santos; Jordan Sheetz; Ben Sinkovich; Arnold and Mary Smith; Bryce, Joanne, Samantha, Darron, Emily, Shyanne, Taylor and Troy Smith; Leta Smith; Steve and Carol Sprouse; Marlece Sprouse; Ron and Duretha Taylor; Abagail Thompson; Mary Beth Thompson; Rebecca Thompson; Bill, Cindy, Dustin and Dakota Wasil; Linda Wietrzykowski; and Ted, Krystle and Brooke Young.
May the Lord richly bless and keep all those who were unable to join us this year. We look forward to seeing the family again at next year’s reunion on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Shelter #1 at Cedar Creek State Park. Descendants of Ruth (Moss) Reed will provide the door prize for the 2009 reunion. Scholarship applications for 2009 will be accepted through May 31, 2009.

Are there any pictures in existance of Nathan Coleman Moss. I am a direct descendant of his sister Sarah and we have none of her. Im wondering if there are any of him. My family would love to see them
